Fasting under proper supervision proves beneficial for mind and body
There is a common myth among the various individuals that fasting means depriving the body of all food or starving yourself, but this conception is not correct. In fact, fasting means short period of abstinence from eating certain type of food. Fasting for some people is the eating of food at specific time of day and for some of them it is the consumption of limited amount of specific food. But more important thing to take care during fasting is the consumption of fluids which helps in preventing dehydration. It is already known and believed by all that fasting normally helps in maintaining physical health and condition. But various studies in the same direction are also going on to prove that fasting not only helps to improve physical health but also helps in restricting or completely avoiding fatal chronic diseases.
The benefit achieved from short range fasting i.e. from one day to a week includes reduction in oxidative stress and inflammation in cells. Such reduction in such oxidative stress and inflammation helps in preventing cancer diseases among the individuals. It is also shown by the researchers that fasting helps in slowing down the ticking of clock inside mitochondria there by de accelerating the process of aging.
